I shall always remember Nick and Rose with considerable admiration and fondness. Nick was instrumental in getting me started on a memorable career as a kidney transplant surgeon. He did so by recommending that I be hired as a summer employee at the Bethlehem Steel Company in Leetsdale, where he worked. The year was 1960, and it followed my first year of college. My initial job was to work on the "bolt pile," until I graduated to become a member of a "riveting gang" where, as the "bucker-up," I was the guy at the wrong end of the rivets. But in spite of the many years that have passed, that memory and special opportunity will never be forgotten. Neither will I ever forget the friendships and kindness that I was fortunate to enjoy in my relationships with Nick and Rose. May they rest in peace..
