Michael Laba, 83, of Ambridge, died suddenly on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Born Jan. 3, 1933, in Ambridge, a son of the late John and Anna Velic Laba, he was retired from Wyckoff Steel. He was a member of St. John Orthodox Church and the Rochester Sportsmen's Club, and was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran aboard the U.S.S. Woodson DE-359.
Surviving are one brother, Samuel Laba, Ambridge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Laba, in 1974 and a dear friend, John Kirish.
Friends will be received Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with the Very Rev. Father Robert J. Prepelka officiating.
Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
A Panachida service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 10 a.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.
