John A. Labuda, 92, of Economy, died Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born May 7, 1925, in Marguerite, Pa., son of the late Martin and Mary Meslovich Labuda, he was retired from the American Bridge Co. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was a former member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic minister, past president of the Holy Name Society, church choir and parish council, all at Divine Redeemer. He was a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Pehon Labuda; one daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Paul Hostovichak, Beaver Falls; one sister-in-law, Christine Labuda, in California; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Ralph Yost, Aliquippa, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Sue Mitchell, and two brothers, Matthew and Martin Labuda.
Friends will be received Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jim Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
