Gerald A. Powell

Gerald A. Powell, 85, of Fair Oaks, died Monday, September 28, 2015, in Heritage Valley Sewickley.

Born March 23, 1930, in Zion, IL, a son of the late John E. and Julia Hovanec Powell, he was retired from LTV Steel and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Velma J. Stewart Powell; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Powell-Zalutsky and Gene Zalutsky, Robinson Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Thelma Powell, North Carolina, and two sisters, Ruth Minkus, South Hills, and Marie Spithaler, Rochester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbur, Ernie, Leonard and Lawrence Powell.

Friends will be received Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Interment will take place at a later date.
