Georgia Kontelis Antinopoulos, 91, of Ambridge, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in Heritage Valley Sewickley.
Born September 18, 1925, in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Theodore and Stella Eleftheriou Kontelis, she had worked for the Pittsburgh Mercantile Co., Economy Savings & Loan and Kroger Company. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church; National Philoptochos Board; Pittsburgh Dioceses Philoptochos Officer and Board, and Holy Cross Philoptochos Officer and Board. She taught Sunday School for 60 years and also taught Greek school. She did work for many charities and her whole life was devoted to her family and church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Antinopoulos, on February 24, 1980; a daughter, Estelle Kemerer, on October 16, 2016; a brother, Nicholas Kontelis, and five sisters, Helen, Mary, Penny, Frances and Connie.
Surviving are a daughter, Paulette Jordan, Moon Twp.; a son, Peter J. Antinopoulos, Economy; a son-in-law, Don Kemerer, Sewickley; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge. Additional viewing will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. at the church. Rev. Father Emmanuel Lillios will officiate.
Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or the family in care of the funeral home.
