Anna (Murga) Nelko

Anna (Murga) Nelko, 87, formerly of Harmony Twp., passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars, PA.

Born August 29, 1927, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Murga, she was a member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge, the Ladies Altar Society of the church, and the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America. Ann was the Administrative Secretary for her parish for 43 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Nelko, on December 6, 1980; a stepfather, John Mindek, in 1958, and a sister, Mary, in 1929.

Surviving are three sons, Very Rev. Andrew D. (Tanya) Nelko, Campbell, OH; William (Sandra) Nelko, Cranberry Twp., PA, and John (Lori) Nelko, Elizabeth, PA; eight grandchildren, Anastasia and her husband Jim Ellis, Andrew and his wife Kaila, and Nathanael, Nadia, Tatyana, Bria, Kyra and Alexa; a great-grandchild, Yelena, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of Parastas service at 4:30 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Translation of the body to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church will follow. Additional viewing will be held Monday, February 9, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the church, with the Very Rev. William J. Evansky and her son, Very Rev. Andrew D. Nelko, co-officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
