John 'Red' Chiaverini, 85, of Ambridge, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.


Born July 29, 1929, in Sewickley, a son of the late Giovani and Guiditta Cacchione Chiaverini, he was a retired Ambridge police officer with 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked as a school crossing guard. He was a member of the Beaver Valley Police Revolver League and in 1969 he was the first in the 20 year history of the league, to shoot a perfect 300. He was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.


Surviving are his wife, Melanie Marich Chiaverini; a son, James Chiaverini; a brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Marlene Chiaverini, and a sister, Virginia Emmert, all of Sewickley, and a brother-in-law, Michael Marich, Ambridge.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Angelina Chiaverini; a son, Mark Chiaverini; three brothers, Bernadino, Anthony and James Chiaverini, and a sister-in-law, Mareena Musser.


There will be no viewing. A private service and interment will take place at Economy Cemetery.
