William K. Freed, 88, of Ambridge, on Monday, February 8, 2016, surrounded by his family. Bill, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, was called to heaven by his wife, Sara, and Jesus.

Born September 11, 1927, in Leetsdale, a son of the late William and Rebecca Higley Freed, he was a member of the Good Samaritan Church and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He worked in early years as a car salesman for Stetlers Motors in Ambridge until 1967. He became a carpenter working for Local 922 until he retired. He married the love of his life, Sara Musi, on May 14, 1955, and was married for 57 years until she passed on January 30, 2013.

Bill is survived by his children, Patti and Thomas Sposaro, Bill and Cheryl Freed, Tom Freed, Anna Marie Finkelstein, and one son-in-law, Rick Finkelstein; five grandchildren, Bill Freed, Louis Sposaro, Casi Hare, Evan and Eric Finkelstein; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kendall and Keegan, and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Naomi Jackson, Eleanor Garcia, Ray Freed, James Freed and Eileen Harigus.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jon Freed, and a nephew, Mark Freed.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Church.

Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery. The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Villa St. Joseph, Good Samaritan Church or the Beaver County Humane Society.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the wonderful nurses and aides who loved and took care of our father at Villa St. Joseph.
