William F. Crawford

William 'Bill' Francis Crawford, 71, of Economy, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.


Born Sept. 23, 1943, in Beaver Falls, he was a son of the late Paul and Jessie Gordon Crawford. Bill served in the military, receiving an honorable discharge from the Army. He retired from Phoenix Glass in 2010, and previously worked for Meco Belts, J&L Structural and J&L Steel. Bill was Catholic by faith, and loved his Irish heritage, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, fishing and shopping at Costco.


On June 30, 1991, he married Eleanor Droz Crawford, of Ambridge, PA. Bill was a loving husband and father of four children: Francene and her husband Paul Venesky of Southlake, Texas; Kelli and her husband Christopher Klein, of Madison, Ohio; Colleen and her husband Paul Lanzoni of Sykesville, PA and Master Sergeant William F. Crawford, Jr. and his wife, Charlotte Crawford, stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was also adored by his 15 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Bill had several brothers and sisters, some of whom preceded him in death, but he was fondest of his surviving sister, Nancy Crawford Sadowski of Port Richey, Florida. He also had numerous close friendships he cherished.


Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Church. Interment will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
