Rose (Savie) Shanayda

Rose Savie Shanayda, 83, of Harmony Twp., died Tuesday, February 24, 2015, in Heritage Valley Sewickley.

Born April 26, 1931, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Phillip and Rose Matiash Savie, she was retired from the Harmony Twp. Borough Building. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Marion Guild.

Surviving are her husband, Nicholas Shanayda; a son, Nicholas S. Shanayda, Bellevue, WA; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and George Moore, Economy, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Danny, Charles, Michael and Nicholas Savie, and four sisters-in-law, Ann, Sue, Sophie and Mary Lou Savie.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Michael Polosky officiating.

Interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Parastas service will be held Friday at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of donations, donations may be made to SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church.
