Mary C. (Messia) Longo

Mary C. Longo, 102, formerly of Ambridge, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Friendship Ridge.

Born Dec. 8, 1912, in Italy, a daughter of the late Jack and Settimia Aqua Messia, she was a member of the Good Samaritan Church and was a former member of the Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stefano Longo, in 1966; two sons, Jack Longo and Michael J. Longo Sr.; a daughter, Pauline Pless; two brothers, John "Jocko" Messia and Angelo C. Messia.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Anna Mae and Ron Carrodus; Marie and Bob Asafaylo, all of Ambridge and Lucy Cassidy, Conway; a son-in-law, Adam Pless, Ambridge; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Church. Interment will follow in the Good Samaritan Cemetery.
