Frank D. Sopko

Frank D. Sopko, 83, of Harmony Twp., died Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born April 8, 1934, in Coal Ridge, Ohio, a son of the late Andrew and Julia Yeager Sopko, he was retired from J&L Steel and LTV Tin Mill Department. He was a member of Harmony Twp. Fire Department for 41 years and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel Lynch Sopko; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Heiser, Baden, and Daniel and Gayle Sopko, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy Sulkowski, Butler, and Sandy and Tom Prokop, Economy; six grandchildren, Corrie, Daniel, Lindsey, Abbie, Kasey and Marcey; five great-grandchildren, T.J., Aiden, Zayne, Jax and Declan, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew and Helen Sopko, and James and Nancy Sopko, all of Baden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters,

Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Monday at 12 noon, with Rev. Jill McGregor officiating.

Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home to provide full military honors.

The family would like to to give a special thank you to John Kassell for all he did for Frank.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at Heritage Valley Sewickley and Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, for the care they gave Frank. The family would also like to thank the Harmony Twp. Fire Dept. and Ladies Auxiliary.
