Frank T. "Duke" Duzicky, 72, of Baden, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, on his 51st Wedding Anniversary, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver after a long battle with multiple myeloma.
Born November 10, 1943, in Sewickley, PA, he was the son of the late Frank Duzicky and Theresa Petros Duzicky. Frank was a graduate of Quaker Valley High School and very proud to be the first member of his family to seek higher education. He attended Geneva College on a football scholarship and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.
Frank retired after 37 years from the West Allegheny School District where he taught math and coached football for a number of years. Frank was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoor sportsman and perhaps the area's biggest Steelers fan. He enjoyed spending time at the Polish Falcons where he had been an officer for many years, the Ambridge Sportsman's Club, and the Baden Legion. He was a member of Good Samaritan Church.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, John Duzicky.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maxine (Swierczewski) Duzicky; daughter, Lynn (Guy) Gifford of Hong Kong; son, Frank (Robyn) Duzicky of Brighton Township; daughter, Jan (Stuart) Rusnak of Baden; his beloved grandchildren, Max Duzicky, Alex Duzicky and Janna Rusnak; brothers, Michael (Janet) Duzicky, and Peter (Holly) Duzicky of Ambridge and sister-in-law, Charlotte Duzicky of Fair Oaks.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Church.
Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
