William (Bill) Palumbo passed away peacefully on July 2, 2021
preceded in death by parents Dominick and Mary Palumbo and six brothers.
Bill was born in Ambridge, PA on April 8, 1929. At an early age Bill learned a strong work ethic which carried with him throughout his life. Bill was a graduate of Ambridge High School and in July 1948 joined and proudly served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge four years later. Shortly after, he met his wife, Rose, and on June 26, 1954 they were married. Liking to stay active, Bill held different jobs throughout his life even after retirement from his decade-long career as a printer for United States Steel (later USX). Bill was known for his kindness and willingness to help others with whatever was needed. He was a devoted son, and for colleagues and relatives alike, there wasn’t a printing press Bill didn’t fix or a house he didn’t paint.
Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose (nee Panaia), his two sons, Jeff (Shelley), Larry (Sheri), and his two grandsons, Enzo and Rocco. Bill was a loyal husband and steadfast father and grandfather who is remembered for attending every little league game, hitting thousands of fly balls,
and being there for his family every step of the way. The feather in Bill’s Cap of Life for the last 20 years was spending as much time as possible with his two grandsons whom he adored!
A Mass for Bill was said in Rome, Italy by Fr. Daniele Vallecorsa.
A Mass will also be celebrated for family at a later date. There will be no viewing.
