Ross Eugene Landfried Jr.

Ross Eugene Landfried Jr., 78, of Ambridge, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 30, 2026. Born July 7, 1948, Sewickley, he was the oldest child of the late Ross and Elizabeth (Ruprecht) Landfried. Ross graduated as Valedictorian from St. Veronica High School in Ambridge and was awarded the Pennsylvania State Senatorial Scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. He made the buzzer beating shot, stole home to win the game and married the most beautiful woman in the room. To know him in his heyday was to want to BE him. He was the coolest cat and when he walked in, everyone turned to look. He still loved to dance to The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead, and did so until his last days. His stories were extraordinary so you had no choice but to hang on every word. Yes, he camped at Woodstock in the summer of “69 and wrangled buffaloes on Ambridge Avenue/ His suffering throughout his life was a portrait of perseverance  and God’s grace. His brilliant mind gifted us with blessings and we are all exceptional thanks to him. He was a member of St Luke the Evangelist/ Good Samaritan Church. He is survived by Yolanda Landfried, his life long love, even after their divorce; daughters, Angelique (Alex) Barlamas and Lova Landfried; sons, Ross E. Landfried III and Noah Landfried; beloved grandchildren, Skylar, Dean, Colton and Marilena; brothers, Mark and David and sisters Marilyn, Beth (Tilly), and Susie (Alon); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Joseph, Paul and James; brothers-in-law, Dwaine Murray, Edward Dobrowolski, Bogdan Dobrowolski and Ted Branowitzer; and sister-in-law Christine Dobrowolski. Friends will be received on Wednesday September 2, 2026 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held on Thursday September 3, 2026 at 10:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am, Good Samaritan Church. Interment will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery.
