Patricia A. Smitz, 72, of Leetsdale, died Wednesday November 20, 2024, at home. Born August 11, 1952, Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Nellie Lesak Olexsovich. Among Patty's most significant accomplishments were raising her two daughters, whom she held as her pride and joy. She was a private duty nurse and was retired from St James Catholic Church. She was a member of St Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Patrick Mahomes fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Smitz, one brother, John Olexsovich and three sisters, Catherine Freed, Betty Kostial and Mary Ellen Olexsovich. She will be loving remembered by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Michael Mitchell, Tennessee, Linda Smitz Naranjo and Bryan Naranjo, Georgia, four grandchildren, Miah, Claire, Trenton and Asher, one brother, Richard Olexsovich, Baden, one sister, Stella Moon, Ambridge and many nieces and nephews. A private funeral service was held on Thursday November 24, 2024, at the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. With Fr. Dan Valentine and Fr. Clint Zadroga, officiating. Patty's loss is deeply felt by her family and all those that knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on an inspire strength, resilience and generosity in those whose lives she touched.
