Michael Anthony Gurniak, 68, of Ambridge, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 4,1957 in Aliquippa, the son of the late Ronald and Joanne (Storozov) Gurniak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Catherine (Rees) Guraly, grandparents Paul and Martha (Skirchak) Storozov and Tony and Margaret (Tanczak) Gurniak, his brother William Gurniak, his brother-in-law Michael J. Guraly and his nephews Robbie Booher and Brandon Booher. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years Catherine (Guraly) Gurniak, a son Ian and his children Gavin, Lyric, Preston and Aria; his sister Sandra Hall and his nieces Ashley Hall-Nightengale and her husband John Paul, Kelsey Hall and her fiancé Daniel Gail, his sister-in-law Diane (Gallentine) Guraly and nephew Michael B. Guraly, his brother-in-law Lawrence D. Guraly, and his brother and sister-in-law Roger and Janice (Guraly) Booher. Mike was a graduate of Hopewell High School Class of 1975 and formerly employed by J&L Steel (LTV), J&J Home Improvements and Shasta, Inc.. He enjoyed working on computers, gaming, and gardening. He and Cathy loved to travel and also took many bicycle adventures through endless miles of rails to trails. They loved attending rock concerts, especially supporting local bands. The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center for their compassionate care. In honor of his wishes, a private ceremony will be held, and arrangements have been entrusted to BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge.
