Margaret Galuschak Kotula, age 101 of Leetsdale, Pa., passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday December 14, 2022.
Born, March 8, 1921, in Sagamore, PA., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Veronica Gulas Galuschak. Margaret worked as a crane operator during World War II for Wyckoff Steel Company Ambridge, PA. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Orthodox Church in Ambridge, PA., for over 96 years and was an active member of the church ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and traveling. Also, she was a huge Pittsburgh Steeler football, Pirate baseball, and Penguin hockey fan.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Margaret Kotula Jerich (Ken), Urbana, Illinois; grandson, Tim Polas, Ambridge, PA; son-in-law, Ted Polas, Ambridge, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; daughter, Georgia Kotula Polas; two brothers, Michael, and Stephen Galuschak; three sisters; Anne Galuschak Demshur, Mary Galuschak, and Ethel Galuschak Hrovich.
Friends will be received Tuesday December 20,2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave. Ambridge, PA. A Panachida will be held at 7:30 pm, followed by a translation of the body to the church.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 21,2022 at 9:30 at St John The Baptist Orthodox Church, with Fr. Marc Wisnosky, officiating. Interment will follow at Economy Cemetery.
