M. Donald "Don" Shalayda

M. Donald “Don” Shalayda, 81 , of Baden, passed away on Monday June 5, 2023. Born on August 10, 1941, Don was the son of the late Michael T. and Mary (Gutowski) Shalayda. He was a graduate of Ambridge High School and attended Montana State and Youngstown State Universities. He had a successful career in industrial sales. He liked all sports, but especially enjoyed playing golf. Don belonged to the Sewickley Men’s Club, which he attended regularly and played with their golf league. He was an adored grandfather, loving father and husband. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at Mikush Maytag. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Georgeann (Skiba) Shalayda, two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Michael, Baden, Steven Theodore (Bethany), Pike Road, AL, one daughter and son-in-law, Karen Jeanne (Dr. Foster) Provost, NY, NY, four grandchildren, Michael Theodore, Zachary Dalton and Andrew Campbell Shalayda and Hanna Isabel Provost. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret (Donald) Sugden and a brother, Gerald P. Shalayda. Honoring his request, no services are planned.
