Economy Boro - Lynn Robert Berckmiller, 77 of Economy Boro died Monday, December 14, 2020, unexpectedly, at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born May 5, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Edmund and Anna Berckmiller of Hopewell. Lynn graduated in 1961 from St. Veronica High School in Ambridge, entered the US Army where he served for 13 months in Korea and upon return, was employed as an industrial electrician with Bethlehem Steel and later Pittsburgh Tube until his retirement.
Lynn enjoyed many hobbies and exhibited much talent in machining, woodworking, building model steam engines, restoring automobiles, home construction, gardening and anything else that presented a mechanical challenge. Lynn was a member of Good Samaritan Church in Ambridge.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Marge Knighton Berckmiller, three sons, Patrick (Tracey), Wake Forest, NC; Greg (Holly), Saint Johns, FL; Tim, Georgetown; granddaughters Savanna, Sierra, Olivia and Mya; brother Edmund (Judy), Oakdale, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters Paula Trzcianka, Baden and Dawn Heilman, Sarver. There will be no viewing due to COVID-19. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thuesday December 17,2020 at 11:00am at Good Samaritan Church. Private interment will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.greatgrouping.org, click on resources, click on Good Samaritan live. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at a later date in 2021.
