Kathleen (McGarvey) Geffel

Kathleen “Kathy” Geffel, 80, of Ambridge, died Monday April 13, 2026, Franciscan Manor. Born July 29, 1945, Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn Jasler McGarvey. She was a retired teacher at St. James Catholic School, Sewickley and was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist/ Good Samaritan Church, where she was a very active member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. “Jack” Geffel. Surviving is her stepson, Tim Geffel, South Heights, one aunt, Sophie Slappo, Ambridge, her godchild, Nicole Slappo, Pittsburgh, six cousins, Patty Kowalski, Ron Yosler, Len Slappo, Barb Costanza, Janet Burns and Judy Turbish. Friends will be received Thursday April 16, 2026 from 10:00am- 12:00pm, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow  at 12:30pm, Good Samaritan Church. Interment will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery.
