Herman Stippelmans Obituary

Herman Stippelmans, 90, of Cranberry Twp., passed away peacefully  on Tuesday March 26,2024, surrounded by his loving wife of 70 years and his daughters. Herman served in the Belgian Army before immigrating to the US in 1958 with his wife and first daughter and became a citizen of the United States in 1963. He had a love of his new country that afforded him the opportunity to become a small business owner. In 1964, he opened Herman’s Pastry shop , which later became Herman’s Bakery and was a staple in the Ambridge community until his retirement in 2007. Herman had a love of big band and ballroom dancing along with tending to his garden, and he loved taking his annual beach vacations with his family. Herman was also an avid sportsman, golfing and bowling in his spare time and was a big fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams. He is survived by his wife, Raymonde and two daughters, Diana Monahan (Gary) and Liesa Besong (Jeff) and 6 grandkids, Kelly Neff (John), Sean Monahan (Amber), Ashley Thoma (Matt), Jeffrey Besong (Rebeka), Jessica Yunk (Adam) and Krista Wieland (Casey), along with 8 great-grandchildren, Emma, Rachel, Andrew, Kendall, Kylee, Madeline, Wesley and Conor, one sister, Fernande DePoorter in Belgium along with numerous nieces and nephews in both the US and in Belgium. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Veronica Stippelmans, 2 brothers and 5 sisters and his son Mark Stippelmans. There will be no visitation, as the family will be having a private service. As a result of the wonderful care Herman received at Sherwood Oaks and with Bridges Hospice, memorial donations may be made to the Sherwood Oaks Employee Appreciation Fund, 100 Norman Dr., Cranberry Twp., PA, 16066, donation checks can be made payable to SORA Employee Appreciation Fund, or to Bridge’s Hospice, 4130 Monroeville Blvd., Monroeville, PA, 15146. BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.
