Gregory John Bitsko, 83, of Conowingo, MD, died Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Born on November 8, 1942, to the late John and Anna (Sapp) Bitsko, Greg grew up in Ambridge, PA. After graduation from Edinboro University, he was drafted and served in the US Army. He dedicated his life to coaching and teaching for nearly 40 years, predominantly working for the South Bend Community School Corporation. Greg was a faithful Orthodox Christian who sought any and every opportunity to sing in a church choir. He was especially proud of his time singing in The Cathedral Choir of Pittsburgh and will be remembered by many for his beautiful tenor voice.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Ralph Bitsko; and a sister, Joanne Bitsko.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Suzanne (Cowan) Bitsko; a sister, Carol (Robert) Roehn; a sister-in-law, Sheron (Rowles) Bitsko; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Nika (Pcsolyar) Bitsko; two grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Bitsko; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Holy Ghost Orthodox Church (210 Maplewood Avenue, Ambridge, PA 15003) on Saturday, June 27, from 9:30-11:00 A.M, with the Orthodox Christian Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. A private burial will take place at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
