Ernest Greer

Ernest “Joe Ruth” Greer, 79, of Aliquippa, died Tuesday February 8, 2022,at home. Born November 23, 1942, Union, SC. He was preceded in death by his birth mother Essie Mae Greer and his mother Maude Ruth. He was retired from J&L Steel and as a bus driver for the Aliquippa School District. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, past member of the Masonic Lodge and he coached Little League Baseball. He had a love for all of his school bus students and was always riding through town blowing his horn and speaking to everyone. In addition to his birth mother and mother, he was preceded in death by his wife Leota Hendon Greer. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Ernest Jr. and Nakita Greer, Anthony Greer, all of Aliquippa, one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rapheal Abercrombie, Ambridge, five grandchildren, Taylor “Aliyah” and Alexys “Alexys Ann” Abercrombie, ‘Ndia and Ernest III “Tre” Greer, and Jalen Tigner, one brother, Buddy “Clee” Reynolds, Maryland, one sister, Beverly Greer, Ohio, three devoted nephews, Buddy Reynolds Jr., Derrick Reynolds, Terry “ My Rat” Doster and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Saturday February 12, 2022 from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00pm at Dominion Full Gospel Church, 415 Melrose Ave., Ambridge, with Bishop Kenneth Crumb officiating.
