Dorothy Pudik formerly of Aliquippa, passed away April 1, 2025 in Garland, Texas, just 20 days shy of her 97th Birthday. The daughter of John & Anna Hlesta Suchy and the eldest of 5 sisters. She was a graduate of Ambridge High School and then attended business school in Pittsburgh where she earned a 2-year degree in accounting/bookkeeping. Her first position was at Forest Lumber Co, Pittsburgh. She met and then married her Dear husband Mike in September 1958. Together they raised 3 children. Later she worked in the business office at The Aliquippa Hospital, retiring after 25 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Mike and a sister Helen Liberatore. She is survived by 3 sisters, Marty Woloshuk, Ann Mull and Maureen Sleowsky .She will be dearly missed by her 3 children, Michael ( Linda) Pudik, Bethanne (George) Hankewycz, Bob Pudik and Dear family friend Marty Smits. Dorothy loved spoiling her 8 grandchildren, George ( Kelsey) Hankewycz, Andrew ( Erica) Hankewycz, Daniel Hankewycz, Mary ( Evan) Scalise, Anna Pudik, Rachel (Luke) Herrmann, Sophie ( Sebastain) Mendez and Jake Pudik.
She was blessed with 3 Great-Grandchildren , Savanna , Lincoln, Genevieve Hankewycz and their baby sister due in May. Also, a 5th Great-Grandchild to be born to Rachel and Luke this September.
Dorothy loved traveling with her husband and her family to Europe, the Islands and summer vacations with her grandchildren at the beach . She enjoyed working in her flower garden. However her best talent and greatest joy was baking delicious cookies, pies, cakes and tortes! If she knew it was your Birthday, chances are she'd surprise you with a delicious Birthday cake. Dorothy was dedicated to participating in the church choir and a very devout member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church . Her and our Father thoroughly enjoyed any Ukrainian Festival and traveled to Soyuzivka Ukrainian Resort where they could hear bands play polkas under the stars. Celebrating the holidays in her own cultural tradition was very important to her. Yet most precious, we honor her for instilling in us the importance of Faith and Glory to God! Friends will be received on Monday April 7, 2025 from 10:00 am until time of Parastas service at 12:00pm, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. A funeral liturgy will follow at 12:30 at St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church , where she served in The Sedality to The Blessed Virgin Mary as a child and was later married. Internment will take place at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
