Dorothy E. (Fitzgerald) Hoover

Dorothy E. Hoover, 93, of Ambridge, died Sunday, April 14, 2019, at home. Born July 29, 1925, in Ambridge, the daughter of the late Thomas and Malvina Bearer Fitzgerald. She was retired from Sewickley Valley Hospital and was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church, Ambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto L. Hoover Jr. on January 12, 2002, and by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Lynn Hoover, James and Irene Hoover, Otto and Debbie Hoover, III and Paul and Cheryl Hoover; three daughters, Dorothy Hoover and her fiancé, David F. Miller, Christine Steinmetz and William Heitman and Theresa Hoover and Kurt Lascek; seven grandchildren, Bradley Hoover, Jason Hoover, Dana Kato, Meghan Hoover, Otto Hoover IV, Richard Steinmetz and Sam Hoover; a sister, Ann Joyce and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Good Samaritan Church, Ambridge. A private entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to Barb, Pat, Maggie, Dana, and Suzi for their care and compassion they gave Mom.
