Donald J. “Beans” Despines Sr.. 72, of Baden, died Friday June 30, 2023, Concordia at Villa St Joseph. Born May 6, 1951, Sewickley, he was the son of the late John Despines and Florence Burlett Stefanacci. He was employed by J&L Steel and retired from the US Postal Service, Baden. He was a lifelong member of the Baden American Legion, Ambridge Croatian Club and was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Surviving are his loving partner, Carol Kosela, Freedom, one son and daughter-in-law, Donnie J. Jr. and Tanya Despines, Mechanicsburg, one daughter, Kristin Eve Despines, Rochester, NY, his former wife, Joyce Bayorek Stewart, two grandchildren, Jordan and Donovan, both Mechanicsburg, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry Leo and Kelly Stefanacci, Zelienople, John Despines, Maryland, Michael and Nikki Despines, Washington, one sister, Linda Ann Despines, Avalon, one sister-in-law, Amy Despines, Hanover, one uncle, Angelo Despines, Dover, two special lifelong friends, Joe and Paulette Battisti, Stevie and Maryann Warkony, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by all the athletes he coached, whom he was very proud of. He enjoyed being called Uncle Don. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Alan Despines and a lifelong friend, Andy Muha. Friends will be received Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Thursday July 6, 2023 at 10:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am, Good Samaritan Church. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family would like to thank Concordia at Villa St Joseph and Good Samaritan Hospice, for their exceptional care they gave Don.
