David J. Yanko

David J."Mouda" Yanko Sr., 71, of Ambridge, died Thursday May 13, 2021, UPMC Shadyside. Born February 9, 1950, Sewickley, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Volk Yanko. He was retired from Pittsburgh Tube & PTC Alliance, member of St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a US Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam Era. David was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He found much joy in the simple things in life. He enjoyed family vacations and liked to jokingly compare the trips to "The Griswolds". He was a loyal fan of Pittsburgh sports and enjoyed spending time in the backyard listening to the Pirates play while admiring his flourishing garden. He also very much loved spending time with his 2 grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Jackie Reich Yanko, one son and daughter-in-law, David J. Jr. and Shannon Yanko, Scott Twp., one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer L. (Yanko) and Brian Stitcher, Martinsburg, WV, two grandchildren, Dayton and Ashlynn Yanko,special cousin Brian (Rosio) Dannible of South Carolina and Janice (Jerry) Cook of Ohio, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by special cousins Robert and Elizabeth"Betty Ann" and Sara Dannible. Friends will be received Sunday May 16, 2021 from 1-4, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave.,Ambridge, where a Blessing Service will be held Monday May 17, 2021 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 11:00am at the cemetery to provide full military honors. The family would like to thank UPMC Shadyside ICU staff on 5 west, for their compassionate care.
