Cynthia Ann Ward, 81, of Ambridge, died Thursday July 18, 2024, Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born October 24, 1942, McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ann Hughes Garvin. She was retired from the Sewickley YMCA, she was an organist for several years at the former Emsworth Presbyterian Church and also taught private piano lessons from her home. She was passionate about teaching music and was an avid church goer. She was a graduate of Westminster College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ward and three brothers, James, Robert and William Garvin. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Brianne Kightlinger, Fair Oaks, Brian Kightlinger, Ambridge, seven grandchildren, Tori, Lexi(Zach), Angelo, Caulin, Grace, Eli and Izzy, one great-granddaughter, Kylaiia, her former husband, Herbert Kightlinger, Erie and her beloved dog, Sadie. There will be no viewing, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Westminster College music department, in her memory.
