Constantine D. Galitsis, 79, of Marshall Twp., died Sunday December 31, 2023, at home. Born February 13, 1944, Astoria Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Athanasios and Irene Taskos Galitsis. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Masonic Doric Lodge #630. He was a school administrator in New York City and Long Island and was a former superintendent at Rochester Area School District. He had a passion for foreign languages and spoke eight foreign languages, was a lifelong ham radio and firearms enthusiast, a Merchant Marine from 1966-1969, he taught Greek language classes at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife Aphrodite Niaros Galitsis, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Tami Galitsis, Seven Fields, James and Sara Galitsis, Pine Twp., one daughter and son-in-law, Anastasia and Andre Maia, Economy Boro, five grandchildren, Stana, Alex, Kosta, Aurelia and Annie Galitsis, one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Anthony and Athena Galitsis, three nephews, Athanasios(Shana) Galitsis, John Galitsis, all of New York City, Dimitri Niaros, St. Louis, one niece, Marissa(Shawn) Butter, Conway. Friends will be received Wednesday January 3, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Rd., Ambridge, where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday January 4, 2024 at 1:00pm, with Fr. Anastasios Athanasiou, officiating. A Trisagion Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in his memory.
