Obituary

Christ G. Balatsoukas, 87, a lifelong resident of Ambridge, died Monday September 12, 2022, Allegheny General Hospital. Born February 15, 1935, Ambridge, he was the son of the late George and Dimitra Balatsoukas. He was retired from Conrail Railroad, member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge Eagles, Polish Falcons and was a US Air Force Veteran. He played football at Wake Forest University, he traveled with the Secret Service as a deputized agent and was extremely giving and loved his lifetime neighbors and Ambridge community. Surviving are his godchild and nephew, George (Sherrie) Mitchell and his three children, Maxx, Kazcia Gold and son Mack, and Lincoln, North Carolina, nephew, Chris Mitchell, niece, Jaymie Mitchell and her son Teddy Maloney, Sewickley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Goldie Mitchell and brother-in-law, Theodore Mitchell. Friends will be received Friday September 16, 2022 from 12:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 1:00pm, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge, with Fr. Anastasios Athanasiou, officiating. Interment will follow at Economy Cemetery. BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.
