Charles Collingwood “Chuck” Fawcett III, 88, formerly of Baden, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 28, 2024, at his home. Preceded in death by wife, Sylvia (Gaughan), his parents, Charles Collingwood Fawcett Jr., and Helen (Bittner), sister Marian Cassidy, brother-in-law Donald Cassidy, and sister Esther Santarelli. Survived by siblings and in-laws, Ronald Santarelli, James and Pamela Fawcett, Margaret and Nelson May, John T. Fawcett, Helen and Michael Pepperney, and Edward and Debbie Fawcett. Survived by children, Charles and Susan Fawcett IV, Mary Elizabeth and George Matthews, John G. and Jacqueline Fawcett, Sylvia Ann and Kent McGaughey, and James P. and Patricia Fawcett. Also survived by grandchildren, Charles V and Alicia Fawcett, Maura and Alex Wickham, Casey Fawcett, and Tara Fawcett, George V and Shannon Matthews, Elizabeth Matthews, Geoffrey Matthews, and Barbara Matthews, Megan and Drake Pedersen, and Joshua Fawcett, Margaret McGaughey and Kelsey McGaughey, and Caroline Fawcett, Julia Fawcett, James Fawcett Jr., and Anna Fawcett. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Lucy and Martin Pedersen, McKenzie and George VI Matthews, Charles VI and Madison Fawcett, and Conrad Wickham. Growing up in Ambridge, Chuck was a member of the St. Veronica Parish in Ambridge, served as an altar server from 4th through 12th grade, and graduated from the parish’s high school in 1954. After serving honorably as a radio operator in the US Army, Chuck worked and later owned Fawcett Television and Radio Inc. from 1954 until his retirement. After marrying and moving to Baden, Chuck was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Parish, Baden, PA, serving in the Parish’s Holy Name Society. Chuck was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1780 and the Archbishop Canavan Assembly, serving in various local and state offices for the organization throughout his life. Chuck also volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 405 in Baden from 1974 until 2002, serving on the Baden Scouters Committee as well as stints as Scoutmaster seeing his three sons achieve Eagle Scout. Chuck and Sylvia were happily married for 62 years until her passing in 2023. Both would say they are most proud of the family they raised, and watching the family grow into multiple generations in their lifetimes. Chuck will be laid to rest in the family plot at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia, OH.
