Betty Rose (Fitch) Wells

Betty Rose Fitch Wells,95, Baden, PA, passed away on Sunday December 7, 2025. She was born on August 2, 1930, at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania on a hot summer day.  She was the daughter of the late Floyd Frank Fitch and Edna Mae Litwiler Fitch. A few years later, when the family moved to Mount Pleasant, PA, Betty graduated from Ramsay High School with the Class of 1948 along with her lifetime friend, Sarah Faust Honse, now living in Florida. She spent her working years in retail and retired from Sears Catalog Department many years ago.  She was a long-time member of the Baden Methodist Church.  For years she volunteered at the Baden Food Bank and in her church’s kitchen.  Her love of crocheting kept her busy everyday making winter scarves for the homeless, The Salvation Army, the local Food Bank, and a Women’s Shelter.  She probably read every Amish book published and her love for candy and sweets was notorious.  She loved decorating her home for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas.  She was Granma Betty or Granma Rose to many children besides her own.   A very kind, loving, unassuming, generous lady was lost when she passed.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Robert, and husband Joseph Wells.  She is survived by her daughter, Linda Pence Volpe (Vernon), Beaver Falls, PA, son, Robert Wells, Beaver Falls, PA, and son, Mark Wells, Erie, PA.  Also, her grandchildren: Danielle Farnham (Michael), Frisco, TX and Nicholas Volpe (Deanna), Lone Tree, CO; and the following great-grandchildren: Madison Richards (Cameron), McKinney, TX; Maiya Boggs (Chandler), Celina, TX;  Eli Volpe, Lone Tree, CO; and Sloane Volpe, Lone Tree, CO.  She is also survived by her sister Shirley Kline of Greensburg, PA., who loved her so very much. A special thank you to her neighbors, the Schultz and Gleason families, who lovingly watched over her and made her a part of their families. Friends will be received on Wednesday December 10,2025 from 3-7, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICERS, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ave, where a Service will be held on Thursday December 11, 2025 at 10:00am in the funeral home. Interment will follow Economy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,  memorial contributions may be made to the Baden Methodist Church, 420 Dippold Avenue, Baden, PA 15005 OR The Beaver County Humane Society.
