Betty M. (Barrett) Kantz

Betty M. Kantz, 86, of Baden, entered eternal rest on Tuesday December 27, 2022, at home. Born May 21, 1936, Watkins, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Matilda Trinkley Barrett. She was retired from Sherwood Oaks Retirement Home. She was a devout Catholic and an active and longtime member of St Luke the Evangelist/ Good Samaritan Catholic Church, where she was a Christian Mother, pierogi roller, fish fryer, festival volunteer and did everything she could for the church. She was also a member of GFWC Woman’s Club of Baden. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blake V. Kantz, two brothers, Michael and Bud Barrett, two sisters, Theresa Weakland and Catherine Sherif. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Majetic, Baden, Brenda and Kenny Briola, Kennedy Twp., Linda and Lindy Jones, Mars, Patty and Doug Hunter, Pittsburgh, eight grandchildren, Christie, Michael(Sarah), Amy (Jeff), Sr. Mercy, Haley (Nathan), Kasey, Peyton and Blake, six great-grandchildren, Taylor (Jonathon), Grace, Gemma, Joseph, Monroe and Caroline, one great-great-grandson, Chase, one brother, Charles Barrett, Warren, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday December 29, 2022 from 4-8, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Friday December 30, 2022 at 9:30am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am, Good Samaritan Church. Interment will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery. The Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild will recite the rosary on Thursday at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Samaritan Christian Mothers in her memory.
