Betty Beighey Obituary

Betty (Kulchycki) Beighey,79, of Hopewell Township, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025 at her home. Born on February 7, 1946, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Betty was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend .Betty graduated from Geneva College, with a degree in education. At Geneva she also met the love of her life, Richard Alan Beighey, who she married on June 29, 1968 and was her devoted companion for 51 years. Her working life spanned a variety of jobs: teaching first grade, catering, administration, and human resources – but she always was proudest of her job as mother, mother-in-law, aunt, and grandmother to her loving daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Larry Marley, nephews Ken Ramaley and Edward Beighey Jr., niece Patty Brunker, and twin grandsons Michael and Joshua Marley. Her continuous and selfless acts of service to her family kept her busy making family meals, hosting family gatherings, and supporting family activities up through the final weeks of her life. Betty’s childhood in Ambridge, PA was shaped substantially by her loving parents, Michael and Kathleen Kulchycki, and her sister, Mary Ann (Kulchycki) Ramaley. She and her sister Mary Ann spoke on the telephone daily for decades, supporting each other and sharing life the way only sisters can. Betty’s marriage to Richard (“Dick”) was characterized by joy, happiness, and family gatherings. They hosted extraordinary Christmas celebrations together, complete with all the cookies, presents, decorations, and pageantry you could imagine.  Betty also had a long-time friendship with Cindy, her dearest friend from Church who provided love and support through all the trials and tribulations of their lives.Betty was a woman of faith, a member of St. Vladmir Ukrainian Orthodox Church, longtime president of the sisterhood, and a devoted servant of the lord. She has fought the good fight and earned her chance to be reunited with those who preceded her in death: Dick, Jennifer, Michael, Kathleen, Cindy, and so many cousins and loved ones.Betty supported and encouraged everyone and helped people to be the best version of themselves in all circumstances. She saw the good in everything and everyone and will be sincerely missed and remembered by those who have survived her: Mary Ann, Jim, Larry, Joshua, Michael, Ken, Laura, Patty, Tim, Jeep, Janet, Edward, Joyce, Charlotte, Anya, and Geoffrey. Friends will be received Sunday March 9, 2025 from 1-5, BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge.
