Avanelle D. McMahan, 93, formerly of Economy Borough, died early Wednesday morning at Hunters Personal Care Home in Aliquippa. Born May 29, 1925, in Indiana Pa. the daughter of the late, Jess and Frances (Lowman) Pfeiffer. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Ambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eugene McMahan on November 10, 2001; a brother, Frederick Pfeiffer and two sisters Laverne Harbridge, and Jean King. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Mary Louise, McMahan Crescent, David and Barbara McMahan, Baden, Michael and Elaine McMahan, Freedom and Brian and Melissa McMahan, Marietta Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Joanne Pfeiffer, Indiana Pa.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Patty Heeter, New Bethlehem Pa. and Beverly and Robert Elliott, Hillsdale Pa.; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday, November 25, 2018, from 1 to 5 p.m at the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Monday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Gelfand, Pastor of Sewickley Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
