Anthony (Tony) Niarhos, 82, of J.J. Kane Glen Hazel, died Tuesday April 26, 2022. Tony was a retired Navy Veteran who served on the Deck of the USS Hornet with Bull Halsey, during the Vietnam Conflict. Tony lived with Mary Ann Battle in Baden, till her death in 2015. Mary Ann’s sisters, Margaret, Dorothy, Ann, Carol and their families were friends of Tony. R. Swain Sr. was Tony’s caregiver. Tony was a fisherman, fishing both the Ohio River from the Coast Guard Station in Sewickley, to the Beaver River in Rochester. Tony stayed at a number of care homes before John J. Kane, where he received Final Rites. A private viewing was held at BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES,INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Interment will take place at Sewickley Cemetery, where Final Committal Prayers will be said. Tony will lay in the Veterans Section overlooking his favorite fishing spots.
