Thomas Akins Obituary

Thomas G. Akins, 86, of Ambridge, died Friday, March 29, 2019, in his home. Born September 24, 1932, in Latrobe, Pa., a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Bolinger Akins, he retired from J&L Steel. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran and was a member of the Ambridge American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty May Akins, on January 18, 2017, and by a brother, Bert Akins. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lori Akins, Baden; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Goerman, Detroit, Mich. and Lisa and Michal Longo, Ambridge; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. There will be no viewing. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family is being served by the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge.
