Ronnie Jean (Woods) Woods

Ronnie Jean Woods, 65, of Aliquippa, Pa., passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, Pa. Ronnie was born on July 9, 1953, in Rochester, Pa., to Ronald Henry Woods and the late Gertrude (Bryant) Woods. Ronnie graduated from Aliquippa Senior High School in 1971 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975; where she was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Ronnie worked for State Farm Insurance Company as a Claims Supervisor, retiring after 25 years. She also served in the United States Army Reserve for 13 years. Most recently, she was employed as a substitute teacher in numerous local school districts as well as working seasonally at various department stores. Ronnie was an avid reader, who also enjoyed singing and was well known for gifting her fresh baked cookies to anyone she met. Ronnie also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and advocating for those that could not advocate for themselves. Ronnie is loved and survived by her daughter, Shannon Woods; her grandson, Nikolai Woods; her beloved “Service Dog” Castro; and five siblings, Albert “Jack” Bryant (Manala), Richard Bryant (Debra), Terry Woods (Eva), Audrey Woods (Jeffery) and Ashanti Genes. Ronnie was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Woods. As per Ronnie’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In good old Ronnie fashion, she requests that you go live your lives to the fullest. The family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver for their exemplary care.
