Mildred R. ‘Millie’ (Budimir) Mickey McCandless Township Mildred R. “Millie” (Budimir) Mickey, 89, of McCandless Twp., died Saturday, September 14, 2019, in North Hills Passavant Hospital. Born July 22, 1930, in Fair Oaks, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Yurisich) Budimir. Mildred retired from running group homes in both Indiana and Virginia, where her and her late husband Joe parented many children, including “Scott and Susan”, with whom she has kept in contact with over the years. She loved children, and even though she was never a birth mother, she was “mom” to so many children as well as many of her nieces and nephews. Mildred was a member of the Valley Christian Fellowship Church, Beaver. Mildred was family oriented and was always happy to spend time with her sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, especially “Dr. Kathleen Roppa” with whom she made her home. Mildred’s hobbies were Sudoku, crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, watching Family Feud, or reading her bible. Mildred was a fabulous cook who could make a meal from the simplest ingredients or bake you a cake like it came from the local bakery. Mildred will be surely missed by all that came into contact with her, but everyone will have something that they learned from her that will help her live on forever. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Mickey, 1975; five brothers, John, Joseph, Jerome “Yado”, Kazmir “Tuedy”, and Peter “Cliffy” Budimir; and four sisters, Pauline Budimir, Anna Marusic, Mary Coladonato, and Rose Marie Taddy. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Peggy Budimir, Baden; one sister, Josephine Roppa, Leet Twp.; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. in BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Patti Elliott officiating. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery. A very special thank you to Carol, Debbie, and Andrea.T
