Joseph R. “Dick” Jahoda, 92, of Hopewell Twp., died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in the Brighton Rehab & Wellness Center.
Born January 2, 1925, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Susan Jahoda, he was retired from All State Insurance. A member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, he was a past president of the Slovak Catholic Sokols, and enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. Jahoda, on December 25, 1995, and two sisters, Florence Sylak and Dorothy Crispen.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Gary Nelson, Largo, Fla; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kelly Jahoda, Palm Harbor, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jeff Majercik, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Amy Lynn Jahoda, Palm Harbor, Fla., and a great-grandson, Orie Majercik, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Friends will be received Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of Parastas service at 11 a.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. A funeral Mass will follow Friday at 11:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Michael Polosky officiating.
Interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
