Jimmie R. Goodwin, 87, of Fair Oaks, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver. Born June 26, 1931, in Buckhannon, W. Va., a son of the late Coleman and Mary Miller Goodwin, he was retired from American Bridge Co. He was a lifetime member of the Polish Falcons, a member of the Baden American Legion, and a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann (Schofield) Goodwin, December 30, 2004; two brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry Goodwin, Fair Oaks and Shawn and Tammy Goodwin, Economy Borough; one brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Maryann Goodwin, Hookstown; one sister, Shirley Sands, Buckhan-non, W. Va.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at noon in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 1 p.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.
