George Cobert Jr. Obituary

George J. Cobert Jr., 88, of Harmony Twp., died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at home. Born March 26, 1929, in Uniontown, he was a son of the late George Sr. and Margaret Flannigan Cobert. Retired from Geneva College, he also worked at Penn Beaver Hotel and owned and operated Do All Construction. He was a member of the former St. Veronica Catholic Church, Harmony Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, Ambridge Sportsmen’s Club, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean War. He also loved to hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Lydia Ann Manini Cobert, on August 9, 2012. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, George J. III and Felicia Cobert, Treasure Lake, DuBois, Pa.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy Gazda, Turtle Point, Pa.; Betty Kwiantnowski, and Peggy and Greg Gabrich, all of Harmony Twp.; eight grandchildren, Christine, David John, Marlene, Melissa, Jason, Jennifer, George IV and Erik; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and his extended family, Rick, Amanda and Lola Palshaw. There will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.
