Edward John Kascek

Edward John Kascek, 88, formerly of Economy, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor, Macedonia, Ill.

Born November 29, 1928, in Ambridge, he was a son of the late John Francis and Margaret Helen (Elleck) Kascek. Mr. Kascek formerly resided in Economy and moved to Illinois in May of 2014. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He worked and retired from Armco Steel in Ambridge in 1983. He was a member of Good Samaritan Parish and was a graduate of Quigley Catholic High School in 1947. Mr. Kascek was a member of the Ambridge VFW and Ambridge Sportsmen's Club.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Kascek, Macedonia, Ill.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and James Sherley, Benton, Ill., and Linda and Bernie O'Neill, Warminster, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Webb and Jacqueline Bozovich, both of Benton, Ill., and Jonathan Mohr, Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Jade Lee Bozovich, Gabrielle E. Webb and Sydney Jo Bozovich, and nieces and nephews, Yvonne and Michael Krovisky, Theresa Haiti, Anthony Kascek, and Christine and Frank Certich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard A. Kascek.

Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Good Samaritan Parish.

Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.
