Andrew J. Zajac III, 72, of Baden, died Friday, July 6, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian. Born August 19, 1945, in Sewickley, a son of the late Andrew J. Jr. and Julia Jagiello Zajac, he was a teacher at Economy Elementary School, retiring after 37 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Baden Lions Club, where he was past president and current secretary. He worked at Baden Hardware; taught furniture refinishing at CCBC, and was trained as an EMT for Economy Ambulance. He was a model train enthusiast, and was a graduate of Clarion University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. Surviving are his wife, Linda Thomas Zajac; a son, Andrew J. Zajac IV, Canonsburg; two daughters and a son-in-law, Natalie Zajac, Baltimore, Md., and Valerie and Ken Tyner; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nicholas Tyner, all of Spring, Texas; a brother-in-law, Raymond Tomaszewski, Rochester, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Tomaszewski. Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Jim Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The Baden Lions Club will conduct a service Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
