Ruth (Smith) Evanko

Ruth Smith Evanko, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 92, of Baden, died Saturday, May 16, 2015, in her home.

Born February 28, 1923, Ambridge, she was the daughter of the late Leo F. and Sylvia Rutkowski Smith. She formerly worked at IBEW Union and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden.

Surviving are her husband, Elmer R. Evanko; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ronald Havranek, Baden; one grandson, Brett Richard Havranek, Kansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Shirley Smith, Georgia, and one sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and William Tunney, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Kowall.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. (Everyone please meet at the church.) Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
