Michael H. Stiger, 71, of Baden, died Friday, January 27, 2017, at home.
Born August 8, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Marie (Stern) Stiger, he was a self-employed structural engineer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a U.S. Army veteran and an avid hunter.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia "Patty" (Baker) Stiger; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Amy Stiger, Anchorage, Alaska; Louis Stiger and Anna Hase, Ellwood City, and Sean and Mandi Stiger, Moon Township; two daughters, Melissa Stiger, Chippewa Twp. and Sydney Stiger, Baden; six grandchildren, C.J., Nathan, Ava, Andrew, Ellie, and Morgan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Nick DePasquale, Delmont, Pa. and Shirley and George Embaugh, Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters-in-law, Madeline Stiger, Evans, Ga. and Anna Stiger, Chippewa Twp.; his second wife, Gayle Antram, Moon Twp.;three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Carol Baker, Baden; David and Cathy Baker, Glenshaw and Mark and Germaine Baker, Conway, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Henry "Jim" Stiger; one sister, Mary Ruth Hauser; a granddaughter, Michaela Stiger, and his first wife, Diana Stiger.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Concordia Nurses, Tracy Shaw and Melissa Opst and Vitas Hospice, Stephanie Gray, Danene Leasher and Laura and Matt for their care and compassion they gave Mike.
