Julia Karas, 95, of Fair Oaks, died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford. Born November 28, 1923, in Ambridge, a daughter to the late Frank and Anna Lazor Karas. She was retired from Sears Allegheny Center Northside. Julia was a member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church and was a graduate of Ambridge High School class of 1942. Surviving are two nephews, John Connelly, Ambridge and William (Therese) Krokonko, Hummelstown Pa.; three nieces, Patricia Whipple, Rochester, Maryann (Dave) Oldaker, New Brighton and Christine Connelly, Ambridge and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Karas Jr.; three sisters, Anne Marbich, Mary Connelly and Helen Krokonko; one nephew, Ronald Connelly and two nieces, Diane Krokonko and Kathleen Connelly. Friends will be received Thursday, January 3, 2018, from 4 p.m. until time of Parastas service at 7:30 p.m. at BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Translation of the body to follow to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, where a service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Very Reverend Father William Evansky officiating. Interment will follow Economy Cemetery. Special thanks to Adrianne Connelly and Dave McPherson for their care they gave Julia.
