Jean M. Burka

Jean M. Burka, 88, of Baden, died Monday, January 5, 2015, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born April 4, 1926, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Anthony and Marie D'Augustine Roppo, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden.

Surviving are her husband, Michael Burka; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and Joseph Makowski, Baden; Michaelene Durf, Florida; Joyce Ann LaFrance, Colorado, and Laura and Mark Cartier, California; five grandchildren, Jody and her husband Mark Kopriva, and Lori and her husband John Donahue, all of Cranberry Twp.; Sommer Durf, Florida, and Kevin and Nicole Cartier, California; three great-grandchildren, Andrew and Luke Kopriva, and Kathryn Jean Donahue, all of Cranberry Twp.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Vonnie Roppo, and Frank and Ginger Roppo, all of Baden, and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Beatrice and Ronald Martin, Ambridge, and Catherine Damon and Marge Roppo, both of California.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Durf; a brother, Nick Roppo, and a sister, Ann Cardamone.

There will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian burial will be held today at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.

The BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.
