Herbert C. Lawson

Herbert C. Lawson, 90, formerly of Hookstown, died Saturday, January 23, 2016, in Rochester Manor.

Born November 29, 1925, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Herbert C. and Mary Elizabeth O'Donnell Lawson, he was retired from Gulf Oil and was a former police chief of Hookstown. He was a past member of Hookstown American Legion, a current member of Baden American Legion, and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran serving on the USS Murphy.

Surviving are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Herbert Jr. and Marge Lawson, James Lawson, John and Barbara Lawson, Stephen and Yanic Lawson, and Patrick and Allison Lawson; two daughters, Mary Lawson Caughey and Teresa Lawson Stevens; 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 5 p.m. until time of blessing service at 7:30 .m in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Interment will take place in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Baden American Legion will conduct a service Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 7:15 p.m. to provide full military honors.
